I love fragrance, and I especially like to sniff the latest from new, emerging brands. At the Elements Showcase held at Skylight West 500 West 36th Street, I got a chance to sample fragrances yo won’t find everywhere else. in many cases, you won’t find these unique scents anywhere else, as the creators are still seeking partnerships and retailers. Although Elements mostly features fragrance, there were also some beauty and accessories brands showcased, as well.
Here are just a few of the brands that caught my eye and captivated my nostrils
Launching later this year in the US is Dita Von Teese “Erotique.” I was absolutely wild or this sophisticated, and sexy scent. And you can’t help but love the packaging, with Dita’s own sexy “crest” of a stiletto and a bustier! Peter Schamberger from Luxess Group presented the fragrances and described how Dita has collected fragrance bottles for years and how she was very involved in the creation of all her luxury and quality fragrances!
Pozzo Di Borgo introduced 8 Mars 1764 that evokes the subtle aromas of a drop of cognac poured into a burning coffee, set on woody backdrop of grand elegance for real men of influence and 23 Janvier 1984 an intimate perfume that leaves a sensual and powdered trace on the skin yet is fresh and sophisticated. The slender, classic columns of the Pozzo di Borgo bottles are a nod to columns on the family “castle.” I loved the men’s fragrance and also, the women’s. Beautiful scents but the creatives haven’t found a “home” for them in the USA just yet.
TenOverTen wants to be your neighborhood nail salon with locations in Mid-town and Tribeca with a relaxed, social atmosphere aiming to bring back the simple pleasure of getting a manicure and pedicure in a space that feels more like someone’s apartment than a typical nail salon. They have highly trained staff, unique features such as an iPad at every station, hard to find nail polish brands and unmatched customer service. Tenoverten also comes with their signature product line of polishes that are 5 free + cruelty free; they do not contain: dibutyl phthalate, toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor. This is my shiny gold manicure from the event– long lasting, and I feel like a Princess!
Fragrance brands ruled the event with some classics and collectors items such as Ego Facto, Olfactive Studio, Lalique and Bond No. 9.
House of Sillage not only presented luxurious and sophisticated range of perfumes but some truly beautiful special edition bottles that are numbered and available in the lines 6 scents as well as a holiday scent – the bottle is a snow globe! This is a photo of the “regular” bottles, and these are glittery collectibles (and spectacular) as well.
I loved these handmade candles by Chinku Mahindra and her line Yuthica. The Double Dip candles melt at only 2 degrees higher than your body temperature. Light the wick of your Double Dipp Candle and let it burn to form a melt pool (approximately 10 – 15 minutes), extinguish and pour the warm oil and massage directly onto your body. As the wax melts, it transforms into an all-natural rich moisturizing massage oil.
