It’s not just enough to be a pretty face! You have to have substance, as well. Beauty and brains mixed with fashion that is functional, is what the savvy woman strives for. Luckily for us, the beautiful (and brainy) entrepreneur, Jennifer Cheng, has developed a clever face in a case kit that has some really unique bells & whistles. Jenn is a former actress and model in the US with television and film credits including SNL, Conan O’ Brian, various independent films, and campaigns including Motorola and Mudd Jeans. She then decided to go to business school and while getting her degree, became an online and social media whiz. I won’t go into all her achievements, but they are many, But this physical beauty with big brains also had big plans. Skipping ahead at bit, she founded Glam-it — committed to helping girls look good, feel good, do good. Glam-it has created and curated beauty and fashion products available on Glam-it.com and is currently developing a patented revolutionary beauty product launching soon.
…and now there is something I am really excited about — the GlamPact (srp. $100.00). It was only available as a prototype when I went to the launch event and met Jennifer, but it is one of those product that you can’t help but gush about! The GlamPact, at first peek, reminds me of the type of dressing tables actors and models use to get ready. Open the top and there is a nice mirror ringed with led lights that yoau can switch off or on with a a stylus, If you’ve ever tried to do your makeup in a hotel room with bad lighting, or in your car (be sure you’re in park, please) or anywhere else where the light is “wonky,” you’ll grin with pleasure at this feature on the GlamPact. And even more clever, the lights are re-chargeable thanks to an included USB cable that tucks right inside the velveteen travel pouch.
Inside the GlamPact there is makeup–plenty of it. There are two shades (light and medium) of anti-aging, moisturizing Superfection Pressed CC Powder (with Matryxl and other well recognized skin loving ingredients) and also SPF 3o PA+++ You also get a double-sided sponge to apply dry for a natural look, or wet for more coverage. There is even a plastic protective cover that swivels back to use the product (Jenn really thought of everything). Slide the CC powder layer to the left, and find a blush/bronzer/highlighter trio, also with skin loving benefits. There are three eye shadows, also with retinol, essential fatty acids, and rose hip seed oil (mine came with black, taupe and ivory), and finally, three plumping and moisturizing lip colors (mine were in light and medium pink, plus a light pink lip gloss) featuring hyaluronic filling spheres, and soothing argan oil, to plump and nurture your lips. The colors are not very intense, but they are somewhat layer-able and they seem to last reasonably well. And I really like the fact that they are not just beautifying color cosmetics, but also have recognized ingredients to benefit your skin, Right now the color choices are limited, but eventually, there will be, making GlamPact even more versatile and beloved.
So far, sounds amazing, doesn’t it? But as they say in info-mercials, “wait! There’s more!” Slide the middle layer with to the left yet again, and find a four mini-sized brushes to apply it all: a lip brush, cheek fan brush, eyebrow brush, dual-ended eyeshadow/liner brush, and finally the Stylus that lets you easily remove any one of the makeup pans and replace it with another (more colors and makeup, coming soon). There is even room in that bottom well to store the USB cord.
Beauty and brains, fashion, form and function all come together in a remarkable kit that leaves nothing out. While it is pricey, it’s a complete dressing table/makeup drawer in a clever compact, and with the USB charger and LED lights, even more so. I took mine to a conference, used it on vacation, took it to the gym, brought it to a friend’s house (and she wanted to keep it, of course). As of this review, the GlamPact is getting ready to launch and you can sign up to be in on the first bath of them (in pink or black). It’s going to be this year’s makeup status symbol. Make a pact with yourself to GlamPact. YES, you’re going to want one!
